Woods

Mahogany
The mahogany wood used in our furniture is plantation grown for about 12-15 years.  This wood is great for use in furniture due to its strength and density.  It has a fine, straight grain and the consistency of wood allows for many different stains to be applied in the finishing process.

Sheesham
Used in our Indian ranges, Sheesham is an extremely durable and dense hardwood.  Amazing, unique grain patterns mean that your piece of furniture will be exclusive to your home.

Mango
When the mango tree stops producing fruit after about 25-30 years the very best of the trees are then used in the furniture manufacturing process.  This sustainable practice is great for the furniture and fruit industry alike.

Rubber
Similar to mango trees, rubber trees don’t produce forever.  After the rubber runs dry the very best trees are enlisted in the furniture making industry.  Once again the process is great for the sustainability of both industries.

Recycled and reclaimed Timber
Ever wondered what happens to old houses, railways and bridges when they become obsolete?  Many of the wood, often teak, is reused to manufacture stunning “one of a kind” furniture pieces.  Often used in its original state, the wood gives the piece of furniture a unique rustic look that will be further enriched over time.

Rattan
Rattan is a very resilient, durable fibre that can be used to make both the structure and coverings of furniture and also more commonly basketware.  Villages will specialize in rattan weaving and as a result will understand the importance of adhering to the strict guidelines that govern the rattan industry.

Paper Products
Paper can also be recycled into a product suitable for weaving into furniture coverings.  The highly sustainable process, which uses scrap paper, ultimately leads to a highly weaved product durable enough to withstand the rigors of everyday use.  The product can be easily coloured and used in a range of ways.
